Description

THE UNIVERSAL VOICE SYSTEM IN A NUTSHELL

4 Voice Characters
The Universal Voice Guide centers around four voice characters. These voice characters are the same worldwide when we communicate with each other. They can be divided into:

  • “Speaking” (Speech)
  • “Whispering” (Whisper)
  • “Calling” (Belting)
  • “Singing” (Classical).

In the Universal Voice Guide, you’ll learn to recognize these voice characters, use them yourself, and improve through training.

8 Sound Characteristics
The four voice characters each consist of different sound characteristics, of which a total of 8 can be distinguished:

  • Vibrations – Irregular/Regular
  • Pitch – Mode 1/Mode 2
  • Volume – Soft/Hard
  • Clarity – Clear/Aspirated
  • Freedom – Free/Pressed
  • Vibrato – Straight/Vibrato
  • Tone Color – Neutral/Sharp Neutral/Dark
  • Nasality – Oral/Nasal

In the Universal Voice Guide, you’ll learn to recognize these sound characteristics, use them yourself, train them, and apply them in your own singing

4 Pillars
The 8 sound characteristics are created by your instrument, which is divided into 4 pillars:

  • Body
  • Breath
  • Vocal Folds
  • Resonance Space

Effects
Effects can be added to the voice characters to give the sound more expression, strengthen it, embellish it, or deliberately disturb it. The most common effects, how to use them and practice them, are covered in the book.

Based on the most recent scientific research techniques such as electroglottography and videostroboscopy, the possibilities of the voice have been simplified into a universal system and a universal language.

Leading previously published methodologies such as CVT (Complete Vocal Technique), EVT (Estill Voice Training), Speech Level Singing, Singing Success, Lichtenberger, and Belcanto can therefore be better understood and better applied.
